Questions & Answers
Q: How long does a airbrush spray tan last?
A: Your tan should last between 4 and 8 days. To get a good initial base tan we recommend two consecutive sessions, 24 hours apart.
Q: What ingredients are used in the tanning solution?
A: Airbrush tanning solutions contain an active ingredient, Dihydroxyacetone. DHA is a colorless 3-carbon sugar. When applied to the skin, a chemical reaction with amino acids in the surface cells of the skin occurs. A browning, or tanning, effect is produced. DHA does not damage skin -- it only affects the outermost cells of the epidermis. DHA carries less health risks than any other method to achieve a tanned appearance without sun exposure. DHA has been approved for sunless tanning by the FDA.
Q: Does an airbrush tan rub off on clothing?
A: Fountain of Beauty uses two different types of tanning solutions - one contains a bronzer and one does not. The cosmetic bronzer may rub off on your clothing. The tan from the DHA will not rub off on your clothing.
Q: Should I avoid pools, swimming and hot tubs?
A: Yes, the chlorine in pools and hot tubs will cause the spray tan to fad faster.
Q: How do I remove a spray tan?
A: Washing with a body scrub multiple times during a day will help to remove a spray tan after a couple of days. |
